Raising Money For the Support of the Marine Police Department K9 Program
Note: A donation does not include a shirt, if you want a t-shirt register as a runner/walker, even if you plan to do neither. 
The Marine Police Department is raising money to offset the costs of the K9 Program. Unfortunately, having a K9 Program comes with costs of training and care for our canine's. These costs are out of pocket and the only way to keep the program going is to reach out to the community for support. It takes a special dog with the right personality and learning capability to serve alongside police officers. These special canines perform many tasks such as; catching criminals, sniffing out drugs, and locating/rescueing the lost in an effort to better our community. To have the K9 Unit, Marine Canine Dixie must qualify through various trainings every year to keep up certifications. The Marine Police Department greatly appreciates any support you may be able to offer to keep our police canine program alive, so that we may continue to solve crimes more effectively and discourage criminal activity.
